Training modalities

  • We interact with the farmers. Wherever we find them not satisfied with rearing Jersey /Holstein we provide them information of Indian milch breed of cattle and buffalo‘s productivity and the scope of pure breeding / up-grading existing for them.
  • We sensitize them of the techniques of up-grading and demerits of in-breeding.
  • Features of Gir cattle, finds a prominent place in our motivation programs, where we ask the farmers to visit ‘Keshab Mishra Gir Farm’ of Nischintkoili to get exposed.
  • Although we give emphasis on giving Gir semen to Deshi (Zebu) heifers and cows, in heat, we also provide Gir A.I. to Jersey & Holstein CBs on farmers demand. But on principle we never breed a Red Sindhi or Haryana or Binjharpuri with Gir.
  • Further door step coaching is provided to those who breed their cattle with our Gir AI, i.e. care of lactating, pregnant animals, calf care, usefulness of fodder & post-partum care.
  • We record every progeny, dam, sire and owner.
  • We shall mark our progenies who cross 1 year age and will provide a card to the owner.
  • On future AI to the off spring will be recorded and done with unrelated Gir bull.
  • We will record performance of progenies as to milk yield and work efficiency.
